Winter Wonderland Volunteer Sign Up

Sign Up is now open for volunteer shifts for our Winter Wonderland Competition!  Click here to sign up for your shift:  Winter Wonderland Volunteer Shifts

  • What shift should I work?  Sign up for a shift that works for you & your dancer.  Some parents prefer to work a shift when their dancer is not dancing, and that can be easily managed.  If you are nervous about volunteering don’t be!!  We train our volunteers at the competitions.  If you’re still nervous these are some easy shifts for all volunteers:  Trophy Binder, Set up, Registration, Clean Up, and Runner.
  • Who can work a shift?  Parents, grandparents, older dancers…  Older dancers can work their own shift and our older dancers are some of our best volunteers!!
  • If November is your dancer’s FIRST EVER competition we would recommend that you ENJOY the day.  Wait to sign up for a shift in January, March or June after you’ve had a chance to  see what it’s all about.  We want this to be fun for you and volunteering is a great way to learn more about competitions and connect with the other parents.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CHAPERONES AND PARENTS OF DANCERS 8 AND UNDER**

If you are a parent of a dancer 8 & under -and do not have a current security clearance- we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. Once you have registered you will receive a referral letter to bring with you to the Police Station and apply.  If you do not receive a referral letter within 48 hours of registering please let us know at this email.
Current experience shows at LEAST a 3 week turnaround time for application approval. It will cost $15 and will be reimbursed by CHDA with the receipt at the dance weekend.
This security clearance is a new Scotdance Canada regulation and without it, your dancers 8 & under will not be able to stay overnight without you.
If you have a security clearance with another organization (must be a valid Vulnerable Sector clearance) you will be able to use it, as long as you are able to submit a copy of it to scotdancecanadariskmanagement@gmail.com

Please note that if you have a security clearance that was obtained via ePIC (electronic Police Information Check online system) you will NOT be able to share your approval with Scotdance Canada as they are not registered with this system. The ePic system doesn’t allow you to download or save a copy to share via email.  If you have any questions about an existing clearance you can direct your inquiries to the PICU-Police Information Check Unit at 403-428-2052.
